The 5 changes we have adopted in our commitment to go green…
The Government’s race to be Net Zero by 2050 (read more here) has called for businesses across the UK to audit their current practices and start to introduce more environmentally responsible changes. Here, at Hunton and Garget, we have always sought out opportunities to protect our precious environment and continue to remain fully committed to doing all that we can. Our most recent top 5 go green initiatives are:
Installing an electric car charging point
Transport emissions significantly contribute to pollution so to this end we have installed an electric charging point at our Richmond office which you are welcome to use free of charge if you are in the area and in need of a top up!
Introducing the reMarkable
The digital notebook saves us a huge amount of paper (and ink) – it also makes the filing process much swifter!
Increasing paperless processes
We have made significant investment into a cloud-based case management system which dramatically reduces the amount pf paper used in our offices. Also, within the next few months we will be introducing several more paperless measures to ensure that our conveyancing transactions take advantage of digital systems.
Remote Working
If the recent year has succeeded in anything it is that many businesses (including ourselves) are fully equipped to support employees should they work from home. Even just a day a week working from home can reduce commuting emissions and energy used in the office.
Supporting the Rufus Woods project
As part of celebrations to mark 950 years of Richmond Castle a new woodland of 950 trees has been planted for the Richmondshire community to enjoy. The woodland has been aptly named Rufus Woods after Alan Rufus who first commissioned the castle in 1071. When deciding which species of tree to sponsor we were drawn to the English Oak tree which we have leant supports more life than any other native tree species in the UK – how wonderful is that! We can’t wait to visit the new woodland and will be sure to visit the Hunton and Garget Oak!
We would love to hear about practices you have adopted to become eco-friendlier – we are always looking for new ways to look after the planet so please do get in touch with any suggestions!
